Frozen Dinosaur Eggs!

On Tuesday we had our science experiment of melting ice. Our young visitors joined us in discovering the best way to retrieve our bugs from the ice. We talked about how ice is made and ways we could melt it. The children were given options of using: food colouring, wooden spoon, their hands, salt and warm water. The children shared their predictions but came to the conclusion that warm water and salt were the best to melt the ice. We continued this theme by freezing baby dinosaurs in balloons to make eggs. The children made predictions on how long it would take to freeze the water in the balloons to make the dinosaur eggs. We then had the children go out to the garden and look for the dinosaur eggs as the mother dinosaurs had mislaid their eggs. We reunited the eggs with their mothers. Fun was had by all!
